Rooftop to Table, the new Farm to Table!

Before Percy’s opened, the plan had always been to get up onto our roof and create a small garden, somewhere that we could cultivate the herbs we use for our cocktail infusions. With a lot of thoughtful planning (and planting), we now have a thriving herb garden, with fragrant mint, thyme, oregano, dill, sage, and french tarragon just to name a few. We decided to add a little whimsey by putting a small apple tree up there (yup!) as well as stawberries, and boysenberries.

Our Sage is bursting out, ready to make that next cocktail delicious!

We strive to use as much local ingredients as possible and what’s more local than our very own garden? As the summer progresses and the garden explodes with the things we have painstakingly planted these past 10 months, we hope to continue to integrate the rooftop p-patch into our beverages and food. We’d love for you to stop on by and see what creative ways we can incorporate our little garden into delicious seasonal cocktails and bites. Cheers!

Valentines Day: Expressions of Love

Valentine’s Day is a holiday that brings up varying opinions and practices for many folks. For some it is a day to test the devotion of your beloved, a yearly check-point to see what exactly they are willing to do (or buy) to show you just how much they care for you. Tributes of this devotion traditionally include chocolates, bouquets of flowers and sometimes even jewelry. Oh, and don’t forget cards. Lots and lots of cards. Although the theme of Valentines Day has stayed true, focussing on one’s need to express just how much they love their partner, the language has certainly changed. Below is a look back on vintage Valentine Cards. It turns out that back in the day, most cards were confusing, creepy, or worse…

Emo was apparently a thing even back in the day.

What now?

…Says the serial killer…

When he said he was having her over for dinner…..

Because nothing says romance like false teeth…

Well, at least he’s honest, RIGHT??

The misuse of grammar is both terrifying AND confusing…

Say what you will about there being less romance in modern times, at least it’s clear when someone sends you a Valentine  whether it’s from a loved one or a stalker….

As a little love note to our guests, Percy’s would like to express our affinity in a less stalkery, and more tasty fashion. Joe and Kyle, our  resident bar chefs have whipped up three Valentine inspired drinks, sure to cuddle your taste buds. We will be offering these all week from tonight thru Friday so come on in and let us love you!
